Gan'na Healing™

A 7-step process for trauma recovery from the effects of intergenerational trauma.

Lukas is known for founding one of Australia’s most influential Indigenous trauma-informed organisations, Gan’na Healing. The Gan’na Healing model is a 7-step process for trauma recovery from the effects of intergenerational trauma. Servicing some of Australia’s largest health organisations, Gan’na Healing is considered best practice in the field of trauma recovery in Indigenous communities. Lukas’s work has transformed the lives of people in some of Australia’s most critically impacted communities, seeing results the country has never seen.

What makes Lukas exceptionally skilled in this work is his ability to walk in both worlds, educating and working with both non-Indigenous and Indigenous people of all backgrounds. Lukas understands that healing from the inside out is possible no matter one’s cultural background.

“Success is when you can master leadership from the inside out; then you can truly be the change that the world only dreams about.” — Lukas Williams

Coaching with Lukas
  1. Deep Listening

Lukas starts with Deep Listening — the principles of Dadirri. Here he allows for your story to be unpacked, listening and exploring together how you came to be in your current circumstances today.

  2. Find Safe Places

Lukas works with you to find safe places so that you are able to identify what has been working in your life, and who are the safe people that will support you in your healing journey.

  3. Hearing

Hearing allows you to hear your own story as Lukas relays it back to you, with his own insights and his trauma-informed perspective.

  4. Connects the Dots

Lukas connects the dots with you to build insight and make meaning from your experiences. You may experience guilt, shame, distrust, loss, grief and moral injury — here Lukas holds a safe container for you to process those feelings, and can refer you to trauma specialists where therapeutic processing is needed.

  5. Understanding My Journey

Lukas works with you to make change by reflecting on the past and moving forward, mapping the pathways forward from the past.

  6. Giving Back

Explore where you can make amends, give to your family and community, and make change for the future — in your personal life, career, business and social emotional wellbeing.

  7. Leadership Inside Out

The circle closes where it began: leading yourself first, so the change you carry is the change others can follow.

Healing Trauma — the Gan'na Healing model

How a 7-step process is helping communities recover from intergenerational trauma.

Lukas has a way of healing that I have never witnessed. He can use modern technology and transform it so Indigenous people can understand what healing looks like. Healing is when we come together as the tree is. We want that tree to grow the roots so deep that it can survive alone. We are the roots, and we are the life-givers. The branches are our children. If we come together, we can make it work — all things are possible with Lukas and his healing way. Gan'na Healing transformed my family and community's life forever.
